The innovative Audi virtual cockpit with its high-resolution 12.3 inch LCD screen and the optional Bang & Olufsen sound system with 3D sound set inspiring accents in the interior and offer a luxury-class standard.

A new listening experience
Set completely new standards: The optional Bang & Olufsen sound system with 3D sound offers a fascinating innovation – a sound that enables listeners to experience spatial height.

This is achieved by using four additional loudspeakers, two in the dashboard and two in the A‑pillars. The heart of the sound system: a 755‑watt 16‑channel amplifier which controls the 19 loudspeakers. A sound experience that has never been available in cars before: The music sounds as if it was played in a concert hall.

What is behind this technology? Audi collaborated with the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits (IIS) in Erlangen to develop an algorithm that calculates the information for the third dimension from stereo or 5.1 recordings and processes it for playback on additional loudspeakers.

The new design is an experience that is just as unique as the sound. The 19 loud­speakers come in new covers whose elongated aluminium braces complement the interior design lines.

The engines of the Audi A4 Saloon
Seven engines, one principle: less fuel consumption and more power. Compared to the predecessor model, fuel consumption has been reduced by up to 21 percent while power was increased by up to 25 percent.

The Audi A4 Saloon is available in a total of seven different engine variants: three TFSI and four TDI engines. All have one declared aim: To improve performance while lowering fuel consumption.

The TFSI engines
The first entry is the 1.4 TFSI. This compact four-cylinder engine with a power of 110 kW (150 HP) and a torque of 250 Nm accelerates the A4 Saloon from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of up to 210 km/h. Thanks to the aluminium crankcase the engine’s weight is just over 100 kilograms.

The 2.0 TFSI is available in two versions: The top version offers a power of 185 kW (252 HP) and a torque of 370 Nm. When equipped with it, the Audi A4 Saloon reaches 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds and its electronically limited top speed is 250 km/h. The second option – a gasoline ultra-engine – yields 140 kW (190 HP). Its torque is 320 Nm. With this engine, the Audi A4 Saloon races from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.3 seconds and has a top speed of 240 km/h.

The Audi virtual cockpit
The optional Audi virtual cockpit for the Audi A4 Saloon offers top-quality high-tech features. The instrument cluster in the form of a high-resolution 12.3‑inch LCD screen presents information in a comprehensive and versatile manner.

The driver can use the multi-function steering wheel to switch between two modes: The Infotainment mode is dominated by a central window while the rev counter and speedometer are displayed as small round elements. The classic view focuses on the instruments. The central window with the navigation map or the telephone, radio or audio lists is correspondingly smaller here.

The Audi virtual cockpit presents the required information in an attractive colour design – for example, it shines in orange in the media menu and in green in the telephone menu.

The Audi virtual cockpit is controlled via the multi-function steering wheel plus. The switches on the left spoke are used for navigating through the menus of the audio system, the on-board computer and the telephone and navigation elements. The mode is changed with the “View” button.

The S line sport and exterior package
The A4 sport equipment version lets you show your sporty side – all along the line. With details which impressively emphasise the character of your Audi A4 and, at the very first glance, leave you in no doubt of its powerful performance. The S line sport package offers even more highlights that further enhance the vehicle’s sporty character.

The S line exterior package includes:

• side sill trims painted in body colour
• Door sill trims, front, with aluminium inlays and S logo, illuminated
• Diffuser insert in twilight grey, matt – insert in the rear bumper with honeycomb structure
• Radiator grille in twilight grey, matt, blades in chrome – side air inlet grilles in titanium black, matt with chrome trim

The S line sport package includes:

• sport seats, front with S embossing on the backrests
• S line seat upholstery in fine Nappa leather in rotor grey; optionally in black
• interior, dashboard and headlining in black
• S line sport leather steering wheel in 3-spoke design with multifunction plus
