The Assistance Systems
The range of driver assistance systems raises the bar in the compact class: this includes a rear traffic crossing assistant that warns about possible collision risks when leaving a parking bay. Also new to the A3 family is the traffic jam assist, which works with the Audi adaptive cruise control with a Stop&Go function. This optional system maintains a set distance behind the car in front. When combined with the S tronic, it automatically starts up again after a short stationary period. Another new feature of the A3 family is the emergency assist. If, despite warnings, no steering activity is detected, the system will apply the brakes until the vehicle comes to a safe stop.

The Audi Matrix LED Headlights
Night becomes day: the optional Audi Matrix LED headlights provide bright and even illumination of the road. Individual LEDs are turned on or off depending on the situation, meaning that they always deliver precise illumination. In addition, the LEDs have 64 different dimming levels. Road signs are targeted with reduced brightness so that the driver is not dazzled. Dynamic indicator lights are included – even in the rear.

The Audi Virtual Cockpit
More than just a view ahead: with the Audi virtual cockpit, you always have all the key information clearly in view. Two display modes are available for the 12.3 inch display: the classic view in which the instruments are as large as the traditional analogue displays, and the infotainment mode, which contrasts to provide a central window in the foreground, allowing space for features such as a navigation map.

The Equipment
The Audi A3 Sportback is also setting new standards with the extended standard equipment: The xenon plus headlights including all-weather light in new distinctive graphics, the Bluetooth interface and the MMI radio with 7-inch display are, for example, even in the basic equipment on board.

The Engines
All engines impress with an agile ride as well as high efficiency. The power range of 85 kW (115 hp) for the 1.6 TDI to 140 kW (190 hp) for the 2.0 TFSI. Three petrol and three diesel engines are available. A three-cylinder engine is offered for the A3 series for the first time with the 1.0 TFSI. This compact engine provides 85 kW (115 hp) and delivers from 2,000 to 3,500 rpm with 200 Nm of torque.
